Starbucks Run

Last thursday night instead of our last evening class we went on the big yellow bus to Starbucks in Kerrville. It was exciting and some of us went through "the Tunnel". That was a little scary going in. But on the way back was fun.

The internet has been hard to come by recently. First it didn't work for more then a week and now it works but my computer doesn't always allow me to get on the internet. Sometimes it works (like now) and sometimes it doesn't. I have no idea why. The library in town has internet but they don't allow anyone to get on Facebook... :)

I stayed up until after 12! How exciting... Only two full days left until I leave for Texas. I will be driving myself and I am a little nervous about it. About 1,2oo on my own. Thankfully, I took that route just a couple of weeks ago.

My car broke down about 100 mils from El Paso, TX. We had to be towed the whole way. The Tow truck driver was very interesting. He told us all about the drug cartels along the border.

I am going to try to stay up. That sentence alone shows how boring I am. Or have been. But not for too much longer I hope. I am going to Bible school in less than a week! I applied for His Hill Bible School in Comfort, Texas and will be driving over there early Monday morning. I am so excited!

BTW, I quit my job as an operator, went to Georgia, moved houses and decided to go back to school. I thought I might be going to Haiti this coming January or February but that hasn't worked out. That plan has been postponed.

I hope to start back with this journal. It really is fun to write. How often I write will really just depend on how busy I am with studying, etc. But I look forward to it.

Quilt Show

Several weeks ago some of the ladies from the sewing group I go to went to a quilt show. There were some very beautiful quilts there. And lots of pretty fabric. I wanted to buy it all but the ladies said its better to buy fabric at other places. I didn't end up buying anything there. But there were lots of cool things.

Swap Meet

This morning I went to a swap meet with my mom, and another mom and daughter from church. Lynette and Jamie. It was a regular swap meet and nothing very exciting. We did get this smoothie type drink made of lemons, oranges and ice. That was good. But I didn't spend anything. I am too cheep to spend as much as they were charging. In my mind a swap meet is supposed to cheap. I guess some of the things sold are cheaper than usual.

My grandparents (my dad's parents) came yesterday and my brother, Ryan, and his girlfriend Erin are coming in a few hours. I hope they are bringing their dog, Tank.

I had an interview this last Thursday and it went really well. The interviewer said I was a good fit for the job. So I am really hoping that means I'll get the job. Still no news but I probably won't hear anything until at least Monday. Prayer needed.

Job interview

Tomorrow I have a job intetview! I am very happy to have one. Today I was feeling so discouraged and felt like I would never get a job but then they called me to set up an interview. Well, actually, the first person called for the preliminary interview and then said I would be hearing from the Hiring Manager in a couple of days. And, maybe a half hour later, the Hiring Manager called me! So tomorrow I go in.

And since I'll be all "dolled up" I am going to go by one of the banks nearby and get an application. A friend said they have a Now Hiring sign outside.

No kids showed up for the nursery today so I sat in the service. On friday I am going to be watching the kids that come for the "couples" Bible study. I am a little wary about that. There kid be a lot of wild kids. Maybe no, hopefully not.

All the channels on tv are frozen. All of them except for two, the Arts channel and channel 22. I wonder what is up. Although, it is funny to see some of the faces that are frozen in place. Candid photos. Stephen Colbert's face from Comedy Central is really funny too. So, for now I am watching the Arts channel.

Employment

I am having a difficult time finding a job. So I have decided that it would be a good idea to take a class at the community college about Microsoft Office. But I am just confused about how to actually sign up and so on. I am still trying to figure it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have had several interviews lately. Today I interviewed at Office Max. Last week I interviewed at Petco and Office Max (in another city). I am thankfuly that the interviews have popped up. I am praying they will continue coming.

I feel this blog is boring. Well, I know it is. But I don't want to completely stop writing in it. I am going to try to be more diligent.

Wednesday Night

Wednesday night at church was rather fun. At the end of the service a bunch of people were hanging around because there was this really bad smell. It was all confuson with the adults hanging around talking about where the smell is coming from, the children running and playing with the balloons I gave them :), and the teenage girls talking about who was fat, who was skinny, and who was fat and skinny ("fat and skinny"???). That conversation was kind of sad. Because one girl was saying she lost three pounds already and then her sister, whos is standing right next to her says, "Oh yeah, she is fat, she is really fat." Wow, talk about harsh. But, overall it was quite a funny scene. I think the smell ending up being from the bathroom. But I haven't been back to church yet.

Actually, not much has been happening. I am still looking for a job.

I recently joined Curves. I am excited about it. It is a fun place to work out. And my mom joined too! Now we can keep each other accounatable.

My room is very messy. I am lacking the will to organize it. Well, I do not need to organize it. Only, put things away.

My mom has started me sewin a pair of pants. And not simple ones either. There is a waistband and zipper too. The thought of making my own clothes is very appealing but I feel like my mother is forcing me to do it. I know that I am old enough that she cannot make me do it. But when I think of not making the pants I feel guilty because I should be using my sewing machine for something useful. Not just makeing fun stuff. I'll stop whining. :)

Shelter

This afternoon the young adults group from church volunteered at a shelter. The only people from the group that actually made it were my parents and Jeremy. It was a good experience and I am glad we were able to be a help to them. If we hadn't gone there would have only been one guy in the kitchen making dinner. Which, obviously, woudn't have happened. The place was called Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. http://www.cvrm.com/

My mom and I were serving the food and my responsibility was to give them salad and pie. One man, for a reason I do not know, got really mad at me and started saying bad things in Spanish. Since I don't speak Spanish I don't know what those were but the guy in charge said they were bad. I was a little miffed but haven't had much time to dwell on it, thankfully. Anyways, we just finished half an hour ago.

Oh, and we wore hair nets.

Well, my grandparents (mom's parents) just left after our Christmas Eve dinner. This is a new tradition. Tomorrow we'll do the things we always do on Christmas. I'm too tired to talk about it. My brother brought his dog, "Tank". He is a bit skidish because he is a rescue dog. But I think he is coming around. I keep giving him treats. He is a Chow, Boxer, Pit mix. But he kind of looks like a Dingo. He has beautiful coloring.

Christmas is almost here

Christmas is in three days. I think. I've been wrapping presents for the last couple of days and I must say that I rather like it. I've become quite creative with the ribbon. I'm not really sure where it came from though. Never before have I enjoyed wrapping presents so much.

I have a job interview with Office Depot tomorrow. This will be the third time I go in for an interview. The other two times the manager who was supposed to interview me has been sick. I think she has the flu. It doesn't surprise me, it is the season for it. Its rather dissapointing to be nervous and edgy before an interview, go into the store, and then find out that there will be no interview. But I do think this many times will have taken the edge off. So, hopefully I will do better in the actual interview.

I graduated from college this last Friday, December 14, 2007. I now possess a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Yeah! It is all rather anti-climatic, though. I am done but have no job. I think I should have a job. I was supposed to have an interview at Office Depot today (so I can have a job while I look for a better job) but the manager was ill and didn't know I was coming. Miscommunication between the managers. They didn't call me today so I am going to call first thing tomorrow.

Young Adults Group

There is a young adults group at church which my parents lead. A couple of weeks ago we had a treasure hunt. There were stations and and tasks to do that led up to the treasure map which then led to the treasure. I was in charge of one stations and got some pictures of it. The players had to put one pea at a time from one plate to the other but they had to do it with a straw. Unfortunately, there were some that didn't like peas. :( I can't say they looked that good either.

I volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center today. It is my third time volunteering and I really enjoy it. Mostly I just put informational packets together. Last time I helped write Thank You notes for all the people that had donated money for the charity walk we held. I was my church's ambassador for that. A lot of money has come in which is very exciting. I also like going because the women that work there are super nice. Hopefully, when I start working I'll be able to continue going.

By the way, no job yet. But still looking. Like I said last time.

Gone a long time

So, I haven't written here for a while. Much has gone on. And if anyone really reads this I apologize for being absent. What is new?

I am still looking for a job. Still no success. I did make it to an interview on two jobs but those didn't work out. Everyone says, "You'll find a job, don't worry". Who said I was worrying? [bites nails and looks side to side]. Mostly, I would like to have money and get on my way to saving money for Haiti.

Two people I met recently are going to Haiti on trips. When I learned they were going I felt a little jealous but mostly just sad that I wasn't going also and a need to be there. But I'll make it. I know I will. People keep saying that too. "You'll go, you'll make it." I KNOW! I KNOW! It can get anoying but mostly that is when I am tired and feeling very sarcastic.

We are supposed to be going to dinner tonight. My dad said ten minutes thirty minutes ago. My brother Joel is coming tonight from San Francisco. He is going to stay until Friday. I like to hang out with him.

I don't feel like writing anymore. I am annoyed and just want to go.

Hi!

I am back...again. A little update is in order. I am now living in Palm Desert and will not be returning to Hawaii. :( I am sad about that. I am looking for a job and but I finished school!!!! Now I just need to get my final grade and have my transcripts sent to Biola University. Then I will graduate in December. Last week I went back to Biola to visit some friends and then left for Georgia on Monday. I was there for a couple of days, in Northern Georgia, and it was so pretty. I took some pictures and will upload them. (hopefuly :) ) Anyways, my dad and I got back yesterday and today we are running errands. My mom is in Hawaii getting stuff together and then she will join my dad on Wednesday and they will fly to Asia. They are going to be gone for a couple of weeks. Okay, must go. I believe I said in my last post (I'm too lazy to actually look) that I went to a garage sale on Saturday and then to the thrift store. I got some cute things and am uploading the pictures as I write this. The sad part is, I washed all my clothes and the kids clothes, light and dark, together and one of my red shirts bled and stained some of the kid clothes. I'm not so mad as dissapointed. No, I did not spend a lot of money on them but I took care to buy nice things that were of good quality and looked nice. And then to have them stained! :( I am keeping them because I really don't want to throw them away but I do not know what to do with them yet.

I am staying with my grandparents for a while. It is much less lonely. This morning I went to a garage sale and then went to my favorite thrift store. Some good deals.

I went to a place called the Glass Beach the day before yesterday. There was a really old cemetary nearby too. Very cool.

My mom gets back from the mainland on the 10th. I am ahead in my online class. Maybe I'll finish early.

Hey!

There is a hurricane headed towards Hawaii right now.Here in Kauai it is mostly just windy but "they" guess the most we will get from the hurricane is high winds and rain. No real rain yet. Actually, at the moment it is sunny, blue sky, white clouds, lots of wind. It is really pretty. Of course, with my imagination the wind seems rather ominous...

My mom is in Palm Desert and it is just my brother and I here.

The garage sale shopping went really well. I found some clothes for Haiti and some blocks for the nursery. It was a productive day overall although a lot of the garage sales did not offer much. I got some cute! dresses. They are pink and little and cute and I really like them. I'll post a picture. I have been taking a few pictures lately I just have not taken them off my camera. I think I'll go do that now.

Tomorow my mom and I are going garage sale shopping with my grandpa! It seems he likes to go to garage sales too. Gosh I was busy today. I applied for a new social security car and passport. I cannot find mine. I am hoping they are in California in the family storage locker but I am not sure. So, I applied for new ones. And since I do not know for sure about my passport I have to report it as lost. Anyways, I went to the SS office, got passport pictures (that I do not like even though I dressed up), went to the post office to apply for the post office, went to Wal-Mart, and then went to a job agency to look for employment and then (its not done yet) we went to the thrift store a few stores down. It was not as great as my favorite thrift store but it was fun.

My mom is leaving for California on Sunday. My brother then leaves on the 20th or 21st. As is planned right now I am staying in Hawaii but my dad wants meto come see him in California where he will be speaking. Its kind of hard to focus on this so I shall stop writing.

P.S. My mom and I bought some dolls for the nursery. It was fun and they were on sale! I love sales.

Well, it turns out my mom and I will not be going to Colorado on Friday. I am rather relieved not to have to go but the circumstances for not going are not good. The sister of the woman we were going to see is very sick right now and so she definitely has more important things to do. Please pray for her sister because the doctors are not sure what is really wrong with her.

My dad gets back into the States on Friday. And my nephew, Austin, should be coming with my sister and brother-in-law to the States too. Yeah! I'm not sure if I will get the opportunity to see them but I hope so. My mom and I went shopping today for some clothes (for me) but there was a 40% off sale in the children's clothing section so we got Austin some clothes. It was a lot of fun. :)

I am lonely and want to a big fluffy dog to hug. And a lap cat. And colder weather. And a comfy blanket. And a comfy couch/bed/cusions. And friends. And a bollywood romance. (Well, I might be able to go without the bollywood movie.)

Hopefully, my mom and I will go to some garage sales tomorrow morning. It will be our last opportunity for a couple of weeks.

I bought some play food at Wal-Mart. It was so exciting to buy. I remember when I was little I always wanted to have play food and a kitchen set. I think play food may be part of my children's staple toys. Along with blocks and bigger legos and maybe some dolls. But other then that, they've got their imagination.

The other day my mom and I went to Borders Bookstore and there were books outside on sale. One stack was 5.99 and the other was 3.99. I got four books. I already read one. This just reminds me that I LOVE to read. I need to go the library before my mom and I leave for Colorado. We are going a week from Friday and are going to be gone until the 19th. There is a slight chance that my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew might be in California toward the end of our trip. If so I hope to be able to see them and then fly back here to HI. My mom won't be coming back with me so I'll be here by myself for several weeks.

My mom just said that my dad is very sick right now. He is not sure what it is but he definitely is dehydrated. My mom said they haven't been able to get enough water.

I just finished watching two Bruce Willis movies. I was working on a project for my mom and they were on. Hart's War and Tears of the Sun. I did not think Hart's War was that good but it did have Bruce Willis in it.

Kauai Bus Service

There isn't an extensive public transformation here on Kauai but they do have a bus service. I am not sure how it works though. Anyways, I got a picture! My brother snapped it for me while we were out running errands.

I just got back from watching Cache. It was an all night thing so I picked him up from daycare yesterday and dropped him off this morning. I even had to give a password to pick him up. I'm glad they have security measures. You wouldn't want your child to be picked up by someone you didn't want. He was grumpy, let me tell you. And he was testing me most of the time. I want this, no I want that, no I want this, no I want that... I did worry about him this morning. He has a flemmy cough and he really sounded bad. At times it was difficult for him to breathe but he got better.

My grandparents got back from a cruise in Europe today. They were in Northern Europe and visited Denmark, Norway, etc. They came over for dinner tonight and it was fun. I took pictures.

Today was a lazy day for the most part. At least this morning it was. I just washed clothes, dishes, and watched tv. This afternoon I took my brother to get his hair cut while I shopped at the supermarket. We then went to GNC and stopped at Burger King for a late lunch. Little did I know what horrors we were commiting. Then we went to Wal-Mart. It tooks us about three hours! I was tired to say the least.

My dad is leaving for Asia in a couple of days. I think it will be a month or so before I see him again. My sister leaves on the 2nd. I'm not sure what day that is. All of the sudden I am really tired.

Cleaning

Yesterday my mom and I set off these bug bombs at my grandma's house and today we had to go over and clean EVERYTHING. Plus is hadn't been cleaned in awhile. We were there for SIX HOURS! It really didn't seem that long but I am so tired and everybody else is too.

After we finished at my grandma's we went to church to clean the children's ministry. Its actually my job but my mom and dad helped me so it went faster.

And I took pictures of the nursery all set up. When we got there it was messed up and toys weren't put away so we straightened everything up.This is when I realize, yet again, that I really like stability and do not like change. Something as simple as this does not seem that big of a deal but it feals like a big deal. This shows me that I am not relying on God...and I think I smell...

My mom and I went garage sale shopping. We first hit an estate sale, which I heard is not technically an estate sale. I don't know... Anyways, my mom and I made out like bandits. We got some books and a stuffed animal for my nephew, some toys for the nursery ( I got a doll for the play crib and some plastic cups for the play kitchen). I'm still working on getting more toys. But what I am most happy about are the baby blankets I got. Two white ones and they are so pretty. They were three dollars each! One was supposed to be an antique but its tag says it is 100 % Acrylic. How old do you think it is? Could it be an antique? I'll post a picture later. I also got some baby shoes. I spent some of the morning washing them. Since I like to take pictures so much I should take pictures of the clothes I have gotten for Haiti so far. (For no particular reason, just because.)

Oooo, it just started raining really hard. Don't worry, no hurricane, I think.

I am starting a new project. (I hope I haven't mentioned this before). Delissa, our pastor's wife is going to do a "conference" on true beauty and this August she is going to the conference with the women from the prison on the island. I am making the journals and I have started. They are really going to be cute and I'll take a picture to show. I got the idea and the directions from this blog. Its a neat blog filled with craft stuff.

On Teusday my mom, dad, sister and I went to eat Vietnamese food. My brother could not come because he was working. As usual I took pictures. I know my mom appreciates the pictures, especially of us kids.

Thursday Night BBQ

My church meets every Thursday night but in the summer we have a BBQ before hand. I snapped a few pictures. It started raining in the middle of dinner but most people just sat there. Everyone is used to it.

I still feel slightly compelled to run inside when it starts to drizzle but nobody does that here. The rain hardly ever stays long. One just has to wait it out. BTW, it looks like the hurricane will probably be a tropical depression and if it does happen to be a hurricane it will hit the Big Island because that is the path it is on. But its pretty sunny right now. In twenty minutes it'll change, jut watch.

Grandpa Ken and Haiti

My mom's pritne takes a while to print off pictures. My Dad's is a lot faster. My Grandpa that I spoke about in my last post wrote me and I got the letter today. He always writes nice long letters and in thankfulness I am responding in an equally long letter. I just keep writing and writing. I worry that there is not much time left to talk to him and that he'll die before I get to know all I want to know about him. Before I get to know him. I don't really worry about that with any of my other grandparents. Since I am talking about my grandpa...He is half Cherokee Indian but grew up on a Choctaw reservaton. He is a very artistic type of person, he was a hippie, lived in a bus for a while, and is an organic vegetarian at the moment. He is a very intelligent man. I love him a lot even though I have never met him. It is sad that he was not more involved with his children and then grandchildren. It was his choice but he missed out on a good thing.

I do not think I will go to Haiti in October and Novemer. I think it might be better to get a job, focus on ministry things at church, etc. I'm worried that if I make a definite decision to wait until after December to go that I'll realized my horrible mistake but it will be too late to change things. Bascially, I scared of making the "wrong" choice. People say I should keep praying about it and I have a little (I know thats not good) but I afraid of the answer but I am also afraid of not hearing an answer. I am confused and I don't like it. (Most people probably don't) :)

I found some older pictures of my mom's biological father and I scanned them onto the computer. There are some other ones he sent to my mom, with him and some of my aunt and uncle and mom. He left when my mom was five. He is good looking don't you think. He had long white hair for awhile. I'm not sure if he still has it. (The photos with him and his guitar are from 1965)

He fought in the Korean War.

P.S. My sister says, from watching the news (novel idea isn't it?), that we will know for sure by Saturday if the hurricane is going to hit us. She said if it is sunny on Saturday then it pretty much is a sure thing. Otherwise it may just turn into a tropical storm. From what I can gather, if the water is hotter the more likely a hurricane is to develop. ??? I'm a little bit scared but I'm sure its not a big thing. My parents don't seem worried.

P.S.S. My mom just told me it is a tropical storm again is called "COSME"

I watched Cache again last night. He was really good. The last couple of times he has been a little grumpier, like I said before, but last night he was really good. We did crafts for about an hour? I think. He REALLY likes stickers. I want to go today and get some more. I also want to volunteer at the humane society. I'm not sure if thats possible yet. We'll have to do some juggling with the cars.

There may be a hurricane coming our way. My brother said that he heard on the news the water is too cold for the hurricane to develop so it may just end up being a tropical storm. Anyways, the weather is pretty cool and rainy.

I am watching Blood Diamond right now. I thought it was a very good movie and well made. It was sad and makes me want to do something about it. But what? Its too easy to forget about it and get lost in my own world.

I am so tired today. I watched Cache today for the afternoon. We had fun in the pool. He has graduated from the jacuzzi to the "big pool". Now I have a sunburn though. I put suntan lotion on Cache but forgot to put any on myself. What should I do tomorrow? Does anyone know of any stamp collectors? Leave a comment if you do. :)

I am now officially finished with all of my leftover work from last semester! I turned in the last of it yesterday and most of it the day before. I am tired and happy to be done.

I got to babysit the little boy again last night. It may sound sad that I enjoy hanging out with him but I really do like it. Well, yesterday he was grumpy and it was different but, I mean, can't a kid be grumpy somtimes?

My mom and I are going over to the nursery this morning to make sure everything is in order. Hopefully, I'll remember to take some pictures.

I think I'll be going to the thrift store by myself today. I'm pretty sure I know where it is. Its mostly a straight shot...

My wrist on my right hand hurts right now. I think I put too much weight on it yesterday. Today I helped in the nursery and went to the first service. It has been a rather claustrophobic afternoon. I need to get out but there isn't anywhere to go. Especially at this time of day. And I should be doing school work.

Thrift Store

Well, I went to the thrift store. I had some fun. My mom and I picked up some fabric for curtains in the nursery and also we got a walker for the babies that don't walk yet. It was only five dollars! I think all of the painting is done. Tomorrow we are going to put everything back in its place. It should look nice. I'll post pictures afterwards. Speaking of nursery. Tomorrow I am helping in there. Obviously, the actual room is unavailable so we'll be moving for this Sunday. I like to watch the little kids.

I feel so tired right now and a little discouraged. Its that feeling that I just can't do it. For example, the thought of going to church and sitting through the singing and all of it seems to hard. I just want to sleep. It seems too hard.

My dad was suggesting that after I finish my Acts class that maybe I would go to Haiti for two months and then come back for graduation. While in Haiti I see how I do and if all is well go back after Christmas. It has made me very nervous and excited. Both of those feelings bother my stomach. I hope things work out.

Garage Sales

Tomorrow my mom and I are going garage sale shopping and going to the thrift store. I love going to the thrift store because its fun and on some Saturdays, depending on who is manning the shop, everything is 50% off! I haven't been for two weeks so I am really excited about going.

My dad got home today. He helped my mom and sister with painting the nursery. They decided to paint all the walls and the ceiling! I wasn't helping today because I need to catch up on school work. But I did take some pictures.

I am officially registered for my online class at Liberty University. I start my class on the book of Acts August 20th. Thankfully its only eight weeks long.

I'm going to look for my computer cord again...

So, today we did not end up going on a hike. It was raining and my brother's back was really hurting. My mom, Vicky (sister's friend), and I went back to the nursery and completely finished organizing the storage closet! I took pictures but they are still on my camera. We didn't see any actual rats just the evidence of their presence. There were lots of rat ngawed edges and a nest (not babies thankfully). But it looks really good and I forgot to take a picture. I forgot. Well, we are going back tomorrow and painting one of the walls. I think we're cleaning as well. I AM SO TIRED! And hungry. Hopefully, dinner will be ready soon.

Some of the fireworks sound like gunshots. They keep startling me.

I reached 100 posts! Technically, this post is 101 but...anyways.

I have been thinking lately that I would like to study something in child psychology in the future. I am not sure what it would be called but I would like to study something related to child therapy dealing with orphans who are adopted or are still in the orphanage. Also I would like to be able to work with children that have gone through traumatic experiences. I want to look into it anyways.

Today my mom, brother, and Vicky are supposed to go on a hike. I am not sure when we are going though.

Also, later today my mom and I are going to finish organizing the storage room at church. Its not that bad. I thought it would be a lot more work but thankfully it hasn't been. And to get to the storage room you have to go through the nursery. Well, the nursery is airconditioned! Yeah! So once you come out of the storage room you get to be cool. I'll try to remember to take pictures and let you see.

I finished most of my last anthropology class. I only have to work on the paper and then I only have to work on my Old Testament work.

I babysat Cache on Monday. We went swimming and it start to drizzle. It was cool I saw the rain comming. I made us get out so I could get the towels out of the rain. Later we used washable paints and painted some white shirts. He didn't really get the painting part, he just likes to squeeze the tubes, but it helps him learn his colors and some coordination skills.

Our dryer stopped working a couple of days ago. It will be awhile before it is fixed. It took more than a month to get the washing machine fixed when that broke! I have to say that it is just the way things work on this island, slower, but it is kind of annoying. They come, they don't have a part, they leave, wait a long time, come back days or weeks later, don't have another part, must order, they finally come back, it might work, may need another part. I shouldn't complain because at least we have a dryer that can be fixed. And my grandparents let us use theirs if we need it.

I'm going to get going.

I finally figured out how to get videos on! As you can tell from the previous post. There is my nephew Austin in all his cuteness! And I found the cord to my camera. At least I think its mine. It was on my dad's desk and it fits my camera so I have taken it. Now that I should not be on blogger I feel like being on it. And as you can see I am sucumbing to the temptation.

My sister and brother-in-law sent pictures of my newphew! New ones! I am going to post them. He is so cute! I really wish I was going to get to see him this summer. But my Dad already did I think.

I have watched the little boy Cache five times already this past week. I don't mind becaue I really like to hang out with him. He is cute and even cuter when he smiles.

I also found out that a purse I bought at the thrift store, Savers, is actually a Coach purse and I only paid five dollars for it! I had not idea when I bought it but Cache's mom told me it was a Coach. Isn't that funny? Okay, maybe not funny but interesting.

Today my mom and my sister's friend and myself are going to North Shore so Vicky (my sister's friend) can go snorkling. I have school work today so I'll be reading.

I still cannot find the usb cord to my camera. I want to upload pictures. I wonder what I did with it? I need to make a greater effort then I have been to search it out.

I have not been to the Humane Society lately. My mom prefers I stay and finish up schoolwork before I volunteer anywhere. So I am working hard to finish sooner then planned.

I am trying to upload videos of my nephew but it does not seem to be working. Aargh! Hopefully I'll figure it out and put some on here.

Okay, I had ideas of what to write here until I clicked on the New Post button. Now, the brain is...

My sister's friend Vicky is here for a month. She and Katie will be staying in the other room in my parent's place and on Friday Joel and I are moving over to my grandparents place, which is right across the street. I still have to come over here everyday to do school work .

I babysat last night. It was all of the sudden too. My mom was helping this one lady clean a house she was renting out and another lady she knew needed a babysitter for the evening. So I babysat a two year old. He is a real cutie, with red curly hair and blue eyes. His name is Cache, pronounced Cash. I like him a lot and I am going to watch him this Friday.

So, since Monday I have been to and from Kona four times. Two times there and two times back. I have the airplane thing down pat. It was nice not to have any checked luggage. It saves so much time! I recommend it for everybody. Don't bring any clothes on your trips. Just buy when you get there and throw away before you leave. Its a wonderful idea.

Hopefully today I will finish one of my ten page papers. Yep.

I've been sending out a lot of letters lately. It seems to much more fun to write snail mail then it is to write email. If you want me to write you just give me your address. ;).

Did you know that decaf coffee only has 50% less caffeine? I did not know this until this morning. I innocently assumed that it was caffeine free. Does not decaffeinated mean no caffeine. Just like debunked means the myth is proven wrong?????????????

I am going to Kona tomorrow for the day and returning in the evening. I am hoping to get some work done on the plane. I am still trying to finish a paper. I really do not like to write papers. I hate it, really.

I am looking forward to Wednesday because that is when the training for volunteers at the Humane Society is held. Speaking of the humane society. When I went there a week or so ago I was in one of the cat rooms and an overly rambunctious cat attacked my hand. I am healing though, so do not worry.

Funny story

Well, kind of a funny story. The apartment complex that my parents live in is divide from the other houses on the block by a small canal and a link fence. In the apartment meeting they said they were having problems with people from the houses behind jumping over the fence (its a long fence) and then they mess things up. I guess take the trash out of the dumpsters and throw it around. Things like that. Well, the complex manager decided to grease the top of the fence! It just seems to funny to me. The kids are going to go and grab the fence to jump over and they are going to slip! I must be really mean but it makes me smile whenever I think of it.

Today I spent the afternoon rewriting a paper. It felt like pulling teeth. Slow. And. Painful. I'm still three pages short but at least its only three pages.

I finally scanned the pictures of Austin onto the computer. He is so adorable! It struck me tonight how very sad (rather upset) I am about not getting to see him in August. I am sad and jealous of the people that will get to know him and see him before I do. My dad will probably see him several times before I do. I finally went to the beach today and got in the water. My sister and I promptly forgot to put sun tan lotion on and now are a lovely shade of red. I should take a picture and let you all see the burn.

I've noticed that I have not written any really indepth or long posts in quite awhile. Sometimes when I think about doing it I just feel so tired and it seems like too much energy to type something out. I think its more mental energy then anything else.

These last today I have sent five or six letters out! That is a lot for me. I'm not really sure why. I'm having fun anyways. Speaking of letter writing. If anyone wants to receive a letter just let me know. I am on a roll now. :)

I went to church with my family tonight. It felt good to be there. I know God is always with me but I felt his presence more clearly there. It was a good feeling as if it was coming from the pit of my stomach.

My friend just sent me a gift card to Barnes and Noble ($20) and I am not sure what to get. If you have any suggestions please let me know. You can leave one in the comment section and annonymously if you want to. :)

My sister and her husband picked up their baby boy! His name is Austin and he is sooooo cute! They were thinking about coming to see us in August but the tickets are looking too exspensive so they probably won't come. Please pray for a miracle! I would love to see him and I feel sad that I won't get to. He needs to be loved by his Aunties!

Okay, I must go. I have some school work to finish up tonight. I need to reach 2 Chronicles. Its really interesting once you get going.
